If the link doesn't work try what I did, which was to highlight it then copy and paste it into your address. good luck, it really is a cool pic.

Hiya Choco,

Not too sure about the size of her tank, think 3 feet? Yeah it's a pretty cool fish but I think it probably not fit for the freshwater environment. She has a polaroid picture of it, but it is pretty fuzzy...

I am so glad you could repost that, thanks!
That is the coolest thingy!!!!
What size tank did she have it in, it seems so big, but it might just be the angle?

Hiya guys,

Sorry, LScamaro seems to have removed my pictures. For goodness knows what reason. Maybe fishes were not supposed to be posted there? I will put it up in another site later today for the viewing pleasure of all again OK. Hope this freehosting site can stay stable... ]

Hiya Lunker,

I do believe it is a brackish fish or worse a converted marine species like they do some sting rays. Anyway the LFS she got it from was not able to provide much information about it. Yeah I know they should not be selling stuff they don't know about...

Hiya Tortois,

The box looks really interesting, but I guess it didn't come to mind for her when she first dried it. I think it seems to be doing OK currently. She has the link to this thread so she can check it out herself.

Was the pipefish in pure freshwater or brackish? I looked around and found a few available but they were all brackish species.

Hi All,

I once asked you if you guys had any advice for a friend of mine who had bought a supposed freshwater pipefish.

It passed on sometime ago and she dried it for safekeeping. I got her permission to get a picture of it so that you might be able to identify it and see if it really is a pipefish.

Here's the fish sitting on her desktop PC.

Hiya Sin,

She dried it in the airconditioned environment of the office. It did smell a little for a while but I think the staff were too busy to notice.

Not sure if it is full grown. But suspect that it is one of those converted species.

It looks like a pipefish but I've only seen them in our local Sealife Centre and they are marine ones.
