Is it a problem if Cherry Barbs or Golden barbs eat their own eggs?

A problem in what way? It's a problem if you want the eggs and subsequent fry to survive, yes. It could be dangerous if the eggs are fungused. But eating healthy eggs won't hurt the parents, if that's what you're asking.
