Does anyone know if Ebo-Jager Aquarium heaters are any good? Because I've got my eye on a 75 watt one for my twenty gallon tank. I was just wondering if anyone has had any good/bad experience with them.

Thanks!

Ebo Jagers are probably the most highly recommended, best aquarium heaters out there. Buy it!

EDIT: Some people might try and tell you that 75W is a little bit low for a 20 gallon tank, but IME it's fine. The accepted guideline is 100W for 20 gallons but as long as your house isn't freezing in the winter, 75 should be great.

Ebo Jager heaters are the only heaters I own, they are the best money can buy and will not fail on you like a cheap walmart one. Get it.

I have 5 ebo jagers. I have never had a problem with them, they are reliable and safe.

Arguably the best heater out there. Not a cheap brand that craps on you when you need it most gl w/ it and buy it.

I recently bought one because they are so highly recommended. The temperature dial on mine doesn't seem to work though. In the instructions there was nothing about letting it sit in the water before turning it on to adjust the thermostat like other heaters tell you to do, but I did it anyways. I have the dial set to 75 but the water is a constant 78. I think maybe the plastic ring that has the temperatures on it is messed up or something. The ads for it say it is waterproof and fully submersible but on the heater it says not to immerse it past the indicated water line...so I didn't. Maybe that is why the thermostat is screwed up. It certainly is a better looking heater than others I have though...much easier to camoflauge.

From what I understand, the waterline is for the Canadian market. They're not allowed to say that they're fully submersible here. They don't want to create two heaters, so they sell the same thing all over. I have mine fully submersed with no apparent ill effects. I have the same problem with the temperature dial. The heater keeps a constant temperature, but the temperature dial is lower than the actual temperature (at least according to my thermometer).

That and most of the water line markers are for minimum submersion so as not to burn 'em up. Ebo-toast -- bleck

I never had any problems with my ebo jager. I do prefer Hydor's inline heaters, but they're aren't feasible for a 20 gal.

Titanium heaters are pretty nice too, with the heating element being easy to hide and the temperature controls outside of the tank.
