Maybbe a possible project in the future. Plus, it has an avg. lifespan of 3 years. I know of a freshwater one that has been up for 25 years. |

zookeper Hobbyist Posts: 106 Kudos: 62 Votes: 6 Registered: 19-Apr-2007 | I had one about 8 years ago. Was given to me as a gift. It was the round medium one. The sphere sat on my desk for about 6 years till the last of the shrimps died out. It was a really fascinating eco system and I really enjoyed it. I guess to some they think its bad but my shrimps and snails lived a long and happy lil life. Todd |

agent_orange Enthusiast Posts: 165 Kudos: 77 Votes: 31 Registered: 05-Dec-2002 | I seen these for sale at a local aquarium gift shop. It seems cool and may be a cool diy project in the future. My recent saltwater setup should provide me with most of what I need if I do a saltwater one. I will do quite a bit of research before I attempt to do this though, I'm sure it takes a lot of planning to set it up right. Now to find a cool sealable container . What does that mean, Bob? "Till the cows come home." Where have the cows been? |

superlion Mega Fish Posts: 1246 Kudos: 673 Votes: 339 Registered: 27-Sep-2003 | It's not as bad as those "aquababies" things they used to sell (fortunately haven't seen one for a few years). Putting WCMMs, blue gouramis, or other fish in 4" cubes, with an input of food and no output for toxic chemicals, that was horrible... ><> |
