So I will be buying 12 of them for breeding of fish. I am doing it for fun and will be giving them out. I will be starting a cory of the month club were I will have cory for people they will get 6 cory and only pay actual shipping and actual packing costs I wont be doing it for profit but to enhance our community hopefully I wont have any on arrival. But we shall see how it goes. |

I'll have to convince my wife that a breeding programme for the UK is a good idea! One question though, would captive breeding make the species weaker, I imagine you'd end up with in-breeding as the stocks will be pretty low and have fish that wouldn't make it in the wild even if they were re-introduced? |

Someone said that all botia species are endangered in the wild. Even the Clown loach? I remember reading somewhere that they are surprisingly high in numbers in their habitat(Borneo/Sumatra). Is this true? I also read that the fish have to worry about factories polluting their waters. I am lucky, i can get dwarf chained loaches for only 6$. Is there any research going on to study loaches breeding? If not, i think it should start. -As i read in the most recent issue of TFH, there was a day when, discus breeding in aquariums was very low. Maybee that day will be up soon for loaches. |
