So here is the question: Which fish can i put in without they begin the "last fish swimming" contest? ![]() |

A nice tank, if I do so say myself. I just didn't want to be throwing 18" fish at you if you've only got a tank equivalent of 20 gallons. ![]() You've got many options. Perhaps some Needlefish or Freshwater Barracudas, for a start? Datnoids would be cool as well. For the bottom, Bichirs are awesome fish, but you could always go for one or two of the smaller stingray species instead if you can find'em. Also, some of the medium-sized Pimelodid catfish would be cool. Mix and match with cichlids, and you've got a standard predatory tank.:%) I'm probably forgetting something... or a lot of somethings...:%) Last edited by Shinigami at 30-Oct-2004 13:15 -------------------------------------------- The aquarist is one who must learn the ways of the biologist, the chemist, and the veterinarian. |

However, you've got to make sure that none of the other fish eat all the food before it gets to it; the Chaca chaca is an ambush predator and will not chase food. Also, keep up with water changes; they have a weird habit of making the water more acidic. Theoretically they're digestive powers are so great that they lower the pH. I don't know how much of that is fact, but better to do your water changes anyway. Chaca chaca is said to be mainly a species tank fish. ![]() I'm sure it's possible to keep other fish with Red Bellies... It's just not done often enough that I know of any combos.:%) -------------------------------------------- The aquarist is one who must learn the ways of the biologist, the chemist, and the veterinarian. |
