This is a stupid question, but i'm curious.

I have a TopFin driftwood similar to this one

http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_large_img.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441779456&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302030108&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302023693&bmUID=1093933333061

The entire driftwood is hallow inside.
It has a cave entrance 3-4 inches wide on one side. The cave extends all the way inside to the other end. It is the only entrance/exit. I'm wondering if the fish, shrimp, or African Dwarf Frog went inside will they be able to find the way back out?

The African Dwarf Frog looks very slow moving and doesn't swim much, so i'm afraid if it goes inside, it can't get back out, especially for feeding time

Since it is always dark inside will they think it is night all the time and just sleep? and when they finally feel hungry enough to come out, the feeding time is over and no more food is left for them.

I know this is a stupid question but i'm curious.

Thanks in advance.:%)

Don't worry about, all will be fine. Remember, there is always light at the end of a tunnel. They will know which way out. As for feeding, ADFs find food mostly by smell. So they will now when there is food in the tank.

As long as the opening's large enough where it won't get stuck, then it'll be fine. I almost lost my RTS to a decorations back in the day, but I learned to jsut get rid of that decoration. Sounds like yours'll be fine...

The reason i'm asking is because I have 8 guppies. For a week now i'm missing 1 guppy. I count everyday and I only see 7. I'm sure I bought 8. I checked all over the floor and I see no sign of jumping. I also checked the filter and combed throug the gravel. The only outcome would be the one guppy is stuck inside the driftwood and can't get out.

O well guess he is gone forever. He has been a good friend for two weeks

Was there anything else that might have snatched him up off the floor before you noticed him? If not, then I'd guess he went to a dark place to die, hence, the driftwood...sorry...
