Volumes 2 and 3 are pretty important as well but if I could only have one fish-related book for the rest of my life - this would be it. An absolute must-have, in my opinion. -Molly Visit shelldwellers.com! |

I love the format. It has a chapter (quite lengthy, actually) which is full of "What if my fish..." questions, such as "What if my fish has clamped fins?" It then goes into great detail about the potential causes for the malady and how to combat them. It is also one of the best references for diseases I have ever found. If you are looking for fish ID, however, this is not your book. This books assumes that you already have the fish and know how to care for them, but you have run into some unexpected problem. It has stacks of information on Freshwater, Saltwater, Brackish Water and Coldwater fish in one book! Plus information on diseases and how to cure them, feeding, setting the tank up, filters, breeding and what tanks to use for for fish with different breeding styles, how to introduce fish, anatomy, how the fish breaths, scale types - well, you get the picture! But there is much, much more information in that book than just that! Anyway, that's my fish bible and I SWEAR by it! Jaylene_Grasshopper Last edited by Jaylene_Grasshopper at 02-Nov-2004 01:17 |
