I just wanted to get anyones input on stocking suggestions. My new 29 gallon is about halfway through the cycle. Heres the stock i have planned for the tank- 10 Zebra Danioes(cycling the tank) 1 fancy dwarf gourami 1 Bristlenose pleco 4-6 corey cats. What other fish should i get, if there is even any room. If there is room, i would like for it to be a top dwelling fish. Also, it must NOT be a plant eater. |

A keyhole would fit in there but they can be a bit nippy if there is lots of little fish dashing around in their area.etc: danios. You could try a pair of dwarf cichlids maybe: bolivian rams, blue rams(they can be a little more sensitive though), african butterfly cihclid, other dwarf cichlids like all the apistogrammas. I would definately up the dwarf gourami to 2. tehy like to be in pairs. Make sure the corys are atleast 6. 7 or 8 is better especially in your tank. Waht type of corys are they? Platies are plant nippers so don't get them unless you really want them. I would not add another big school, though you have just enough room for another small school. I would eatheir add another small school or a 2 pairs of dwarf cihclids. what are the dimensions of your tank? Good Luck! Labrakitty |

In too many cases, fights occur. I'd steer clear of any more gouramis. Also, make sure that you have at least six cories. They are shoaling fish, and need to be kept in groups to be at optimum health. Your tank looks pretty full as it is. I wouldn't add a school of anything (most schooling fish aren't top-dwellers, anyways). I think that a few white clouds would be fine. They are small, don't nibble plants, hang out around the top, and are peaceful. If you do go with these minnows, then you would probably be best off with four or so. They do like to be kept in groups. Another thing is that they like lower temperatures, so be aware of that. |
