| Fish that make noise or Dwarf Croaking Gourami | |
joshovis![]() Fingerling Posts: 23 Kudos: 26 Votes: 0 Registered: 15-Nov-2004 ![]() | I have a 30 gallon with 4 (blue) gourami's and a Pleco (that will move to a 55 when he's big enough). I have been looking for a other fish to put in there. I came across the Croaking Gourami, and read how it makes noise durring spawning. Has anyone had experience with a fish making noise, and what you thought of it. Anyone add frogs for the sounds they make? Is it hard to find a Dwarf Croaking Gourami I would love to add 4 to my tank. Thanks for your info, JH |

I've only heard them croak once, surprisingly loud for such a small fish. Sounds like a burb ! They don't do it very often, so don't expect them to be ribbitting away like frogs. You'd be lucky to hear it once. Clown Loaches make a very loud clicking sound when they're happy and content or excited. Remember that age and treachery will always triumph over youth and ability. |

They seem to just make it when they are confronting one another. I'd describe it as more of a 'click' than a croak - it doesn't sound like a frog - it sounds similar to those clicking noises dolphins use to talk to one another. They'll do a little run of about six clicks in one burst, and their little circling bouts last a couple of minutes. They certainly add another 'depth' to the tank. |

Raphael catfishes make noises every now and then, though when I had one, the only time I heard a noise was when s/he was stuck in a cave. |

YoYo loaches are known to make noises also. |
