It's all relative, guys... And Diane will gladly stock her future, larger tank, slowly and incrementally, with fish from Pruess, to make it easier on the pocketbook. The price is worth knowing I have good, quality stock that won't carry something nasty into my aquarium. I must admit, I'm also willing to pay more, as well, because I see the treatment at such fish stores to be highly humane. Many chainstores let the fish literally rot away in the tank and spread the disease or parasite to everyone else where they are allowed to rot away inhumanely. The way we encourage such things is to spend money at these stores when we can, even if it means patient stocking. Good question you raise, Sarah. Cheers ![]() Diane Last edited by Cory_Di at 05-Nov-2004 13:48 |

If they do, or have a big staff, that could account for the higher price. I would have added pure ammonia, but my shark is in there. I will NIC them though, for sure. And my test kit stays wet . |

Even tho the tank was previously stocked, the loss of ammonia source can cause a die off of some of that good bacteria. Their numbers are proportional to the amount of food (ammonia and nitrite) and a couple weeks without a good source may have reduced their numbers. I'd have some new and improved cycle, bio-spira, or stress zyme to add. I would put it in with them. Best of luck ![]() Last edited by Cory_Di at 04-Nov-2004 19:53 |
