Well i just moved my 3 week old danio fry to a 5 gallon tank. There are a bunch of real and fake plants in the aquarium, i'm feeding them a mix of liquid fry food and crushed up flakes. Anyways, i have an elite stingray 5 in the aquarium, but i'm afraid to turn it on as i don't want the babies to get sucked in. So i'm not sure if i'm over exaggerating or what but should i leave it off?

there are lil sponges that you can put on the intake to keep it from sucking them up. Dont just cut up a kitchen sponge to use because a lot of them are treated with arsenic (spelling?) and will kill them off. You should be able to pick one up from your lfs for pretty cheap.

Yeah, I cut a slit in a aqua clear 100 sponge and placed it on the end of my filter uptake. It worked as my four "surprise" fry (black neons) are all doing nicely.

you can also buy a net that slips over the intake tube of your filter to prevent any fry from being sucked up.

Well i tested the filter for about 10 mins last night...they seem fine...they get a little close and get sucked near the filter then they swim away! So i think they may be strong enough to swim form it...but i'm definently going to leave it off when i'm not around...just so that i can keep an eye on them
