Today I had an odd sighting in a fishless tank. A baby fish. Not sure if it's a preacox or furcata yet. Hopefully time will tell. I snapped a shot, it's terrible: The little white spots are tiny bubbles from the filter. Critical Fertilator: The Micromanager of Macronutrients |

I would love to see some pictures of the progression. I tried to raise Fry once.... we had about 6 that we found in a tank in an LFS but they didn't make it. We had them for quite a while though. I'll be sure to take pics if it continues to live for me. I knew the rainbows were spawning in the 50, but never could see any eggs or fry. I'm sure it's because of their size. She was much smaller than the others, which suggested that she must have been trapped in the filter for a number of days. I put her back in my 32G, and now she's a healthy young krib - a bit smaller than the normal size though. |
