Ever since I was 14 I have had at least two fish tanks in my room. Today is a miserable day, I have decided to give up one of my tanks.

I am selling it, but not the fish. I gave away all my clown loaches today. they needed new homes having grown a ridiculous amount in the three years I had them.

I have always been on the borders of being over stocked but had been able to keep up water changes and keep NO3 levels down. This last few months due to my Dad being ill and in and out of hospital I have been really behind hence the giving up one tank to keep on top of the other one more.

I have two keyhole cichlids a false flying fox and a bunch of Black mollies and guppies.

really I want to know in the 35G tank how many guppies/molly adults can I keep, if any?

the keyholes eat the babies....The tank will now be heavily planted as it will have all the plants from the 25g as well, two fluval internal filters(should I up grade to an external?)

so advice suggestions?
Its feels very strange to be here and know that instead of getting more tanks I am getting less!

ps very nice to be back

and a fond farewell to the clown loaches.

goldfishgeek,

I am so sorry to hear that

I was wondering where you were the last couple of weeks, now I know

Giving up a fish tank, as sad as it is, is not the end of the world and I have a feeling that you got your priorities straight

I am not knowledged enough to tell you how many of what would fit in your tank, but maybe a complete list would help (myself and others).

Hang in there GFG,

Ingo

thank you little fish. have missed so much of your log!!

will hopefully have time to catch up soon.

as to the fish in my tank

two keyholes
1 false flying fox
about 6 guppies
about four mollies
plus babies that are generally eaten by the keyholes(and the CLs)

its a 35G tank. I also have a twelve g hex I could use. the betta horatio could go in the five G in my room.....

cheers again

GFG

Hopefully your Dad is doing better, if not now soon, GFG.

I think your stocking will be okay with what you currently have, or were you asking if you could add more guppies and mollies?

With these levels your load shouldn't be so much that if you absolutely can't get to the water change, it should be okay for a while.

goldfishgeek,

I think OldTimer is right, or at least you could start off this way and see how it goes.

And I sure hope you will have some time to catch up with my log
