The smallest male (half the size of a full grown male) was darker and his stripe was a different colour. I moved them to a small tank with a couple plants. The male then went after the females (they are also small) and has been courting them and spawning. Despite covering the tank and leaving the lights off, what should I do to ensure that the eggs hatch. |

I think they're similar in how they spawn but I'm not sure. When I spawned the barbs I put them in a tank with marbles on the bottom and some plants for them to chase each other around. The marbles were so the eggs would fall between them and not get et. After they spawned I took the fish out and waited. I don't remember how long it took but it seems to me about a week later the fry started coming up out of the marbles. Then I fed them liquid fry food until the were big enough for crushed flakes. If I was going to do it again though I would feed baby brine shrimp as soon as they got big enough. Good Luck, Mike |
