Give us a description of what you are refering to as golden. How long is it? Are they thick bodied or slinder? Exactly what sort of coloring are you refering to by "golden"? A name would really help.

I see you have edited your post. What size tank do you have these in? Did you get a larger tank or do you still have the ten gallon? If it is the ten gallon, it will not matter if they are male or female, because even one of these fish will be too big for it. If you now have a 55 gallon or more, congradulations on the new tank, since that is what you will need for a goldfish. Actually, goldfish are better off in a pond, but with a large enough tank (over 55 gallon) you can get by with maybe one or two fish.

Sexing fancy goldfish can be tricky, because they are so deformed from the original species they vary a huge amount on sexual characteristics. Build gives away some, and the presence of the pits and bumps on the gill covers gives others away, but out of breeding season it can be very difficult to tell. When in breeding condition males often grow a temporary fatty pad or lump on the head, but since lionheads etc came out and got interbred with other stock, thats not necessarily accurate either. Post piccies and we can try to ID the sex, but outside of that it will be guesswork, especially if they are young.
