Okay, so here is my problem. I have 4 gold barbs in my tank and 3 loaches. I try to feed the barbs a variety of floating foods and the loaches sinking wafers, but the barbs, particularly one, always come down and steal the loaches food after they are finished with their flakes. Does anyone know how I can make sure that the loaches are getting enough to eat? I've tried turning the lights out but this doesn't stop the one barb who will run to the wafers and pick them up and carry them around with her.

Barbs will do that. I've got a similar problem with my corys. Have you tried distracting the barbs with something a little more entertaining than flake. Something that takes a little longer to eat. Like peas , or something bigger like a pellet food rather than flake.

^_^

I had the same problem with my zebra danios. They would quickly finish their food, then dart down and steal all of my ADFs food. It finally got me mad enough that I moved the danios to another tank. Now I'm planning on adding WCMMs to the ADF tank. Hopefully I won't have the same problem.
