I have had a pair of pearl gouramis for about 3 years, and last year they moved into a bigger tank along with some slighly more aggressive fish. the size of the tank seemed to do them real good, the male especially, since he went a lovely red colour and got beautifl long fondy filaments on his dorsal and (bottom?) fin. but then this christams I went up to my girlfriend's house in scotlad, since she'd just got back from prague where she's been studying, and i spent 5 days there. when i got back, my parents had obviously not been feeding the fish, since the male gourami's fronds had all disappeared, and i think it must have been angry, hungry tiger-barbs which got at him. he's still really healthy, but how long is it going to take for the filaments to grow back? damn my useless family. |

Also, I have a blue dwarf gourami with a split in his tail, which was there when I got him. over the months it seems to be getting better, but I don't know if it will ever heal up. will be keeping an eye on him, tho and remain hopeful. |

It actually looks like they're starting to grow back already after I did a 75% water-change and did a couple of big feeds to make up for parental neglect, so hopefully it won't be too much of a problem. thanks for help anyway. |
