Hello all

I was wondering if anyone who lives in America could tell me about the quality of HBH foods, are they good?

They offer very good prices for bulk foods here in the UK and I just wanted to check weather they are a quality brand in the states.

Thanks

James

Gotta be honest, I tend to avoid them as they are so cheap. That has scared me enough not to purchase, which it shouldn't because a lower cost product can certainly be ok for a fish.

Anyone have experience with this brand?

I use their betta bites, they are really good betta food. I've never tried any of their other foods, though.

Visit their website. [link=http://www.hbhnet.com]mailto:"][/a][a href="http://www.hbhnet.com[/link] They do sound very commited. I also think that they offer there stuff so cheap because they are trying to build a national following. Can't get people to try new things if you price your stuff as much as the old standbuys.

As for personal experience. I used to feed my fry pulverised flakes but I bought their Fry Bites - Growth Formula as an impulse one day as I was waiting in line to check out at a LFS. When I started to fed my fry with it they seemed to double over-night and they have alot more yellow comming in than the previous batch.

The inregredient for the Fry Bites start off like this: Fish Meal, Fish Oil, Blood Meal, Feather Meal, Wheat Flour, Brewers Yeast, Soy Lecithin... and on and on. No wonder their seemed to be an overnight growth spurt!

On a sidenote, I live in Provo, Utah and when I looked on the back of the product I found that their product is made in Springville, Utah. That's just five minutes from me. Just a little bit of a pleasant shock.

I feed HBH Frog Bites to my ADFs. They seem to be doing great. Of course I also feed a couple other types of food to them. But the frogs do enjoy the bites, so there most be good ingredients in the food.

I have also feed Betta Bites. Both of the bettas I had seemed to enjoy those as well. My zebra danios and platies also enjoy the Betta Bites.

No matter what brand, as long as you feed a variety of foods to your fish, they will get the balanced nutrition they need.

I got a 3.2 oz. container of HBH Veggie Wafers for my plec and he will not eat them. I don't know if he just got use to the Hikari wafers or what but I am still surprised at his picky attitude. I wouldn't buy a large bulk amount til you try it on your fish.

the only thing i have found to be a problem is the 'soft and moist', which can create a bit of an oilslick if not eaten fast enough in a bowl setup.

I love their betta bites and shrimp pellets.
