I was looking for something else to feed my fish and brine shrimp came to mind. I already have frozen and wanted to try something new. Could you give me directions on how to make a 1liter or 1 quart container how to keep in at 80-82F. and how to get the ph at 8.0 or higher thanks. I have a pic of what i bought if you need it ill post it later as soon as i get it.

this is what u do.

Get a peanut jar (the glass ones) read the directions, and get the salt mix. Once that is done, pour the eggs into the peanut jar, and put your airstone in. They will hatch in about 14 - 24 hours.

To get the bbs out:

get a little piece of airline tubing, get a flash light, and shine it in the jar - they will swim towards the light. Stick the airline tubing in, and put it where the flashlight is. Suck on it, and get something like a media holder bag, and after you suck on it, the bbs will get stuck in the bag, and you can dip the bag in your tank, and the bbs will come off.

err, if it already has salt in, then you need to get a container that is a liter (a peanut jar might be) and it should be fine.

I didnt realise it already had salt in it.

And, if you ever get them without salt, table salt is fine to use - as long as it is non-ioidized.

When i hatch bbs, i never did anything with the pH or the temp.

It might matter, im not sure, as long as it gets light near a window.

If you want to up the pH just add some baking soda in (very little) also, i would suggest the lightbulb method if you do want to heat it, because they need alot of light to acually hatch.

EDIT* that bottle does in fact look like a liter, but it looks like it could be hard to get the bbs out.

i personally use tap to hatch them.

I have heard using distilled water is better, because it can get into the eggs better, and there is a higher success hatch rate.

but make sure the water is declorinated

Can be tap water, but you need to dechlorinate it first

Sink that bottle in a heated tank to get the temperature up to a good level dont let tank water get into it tho Or BS water get into your tank.

And its not too hard to get the shrimp out, just use a small syphon or a turkey baster.
