Hi. I have a problem in my tank. My tank has a glass cover i had it for 1 year and a half. There some brown thing on the glass from the top, i mean on the cover, there is alot , they are from theinside and outside. Is there any sort of spray or liquid to put on them to remove them. Plz they look ugly.

Thanks For Your Help.

Most things on glass covers can be soaked in vinegar or 10:1 water:bleach solution to be removed. I find that using hot water and a coarse algae scrubber every couple weeks will eliminate everything as a preventative. This way nothing builds up. Maybe also try going at it a little with a razor.

I set it in the shower, pour on a lot of vinegar, scrub for awhile, and then spray it all off. Removes 90% of the crud that gets on the glass. The other 10% is usually removed by repeating those steps a couple times or if it's a top to a small tank just leaving it to soak in a container with half vinegar and half water. A microfiber cloth also helps remove minor things on the glass when you don't feel like scrubbing it down with vinegar or water.

I have had this problem before, and got me a cheep glass scraper from the local discount store. Just be careful not to cut yourself with the blade. Sometimes, I get stuff (hard water deposits) that builds up in my tanks, that just won't budge, and a scraper is the only thing I have tried that will take it off.
