Basically, I woke up this morning to about a thousand little (less than a millimeter in diameter) clear/white balls floating in my tank. I unplugged the air pump (the filter had randomly stopped overnight) and they all floated to the surface. I did some research on the fish in the tank and concluded that the kissers are the only ones it could be, mostly because they are floating.

SO, that being said. Can anyone give me advice on successfully hatching and raising some of them?

Hmmm . . . still no response.
I don't know much about breeding kissing gouramis, but I'm assuming it's similar to any other gourami. Check out the bottom of http://az.essortment.com/breedinggourami_rdks.htmfor information.

Breeding kissing gouramis is extremely rare in aquaria, so there's little information available.

Good luck.

Well, today is day three since I found them and I haven't seen any that look hatched. I was totally unprepared for it. My two kissers are only 3-4 inches in length so I didn't even think they were large enough to breed. If it happens again, hopefully I'll be more prepared next time!

Did you ever see anything inside the bubbles themselves?

I just realized, when you said what their sizes were, that some labyrinth fish (i.e. bettas frequently) will build bubble nests for no reason.

Kissers don't build bubble nests, they simply spawn and the eggs are left to float on their own. This is one thing that makes them unique from the other gouramis, plus there was way too much current in their tank that even if they could have, it would have been destroyed. The eggs were little balls that were clear, floated and most had a little bit of white in them. A few were completely white.

Whoops.
This is what happens when you visit FishProfiles at work when you are supposed to be working on cases with impending deadlines.

BTW, what the referenced site doesn't mention is that if you float some lettuce, some infusoria will grow and provide plenty of nutrition for the fry.

2 1/2 hours until the workday is over. I'll try to work continuously on my cases without dropping by here until 5.

Well, I'm checking the tank now and it appears that the vast majority of the eggs have vanished. However, I don't see any baby fish swimming around either. Any ideas?

Not really, no. Sorry.

There's a good chance that if the eggs were still there, they would have hatched.
I know newborn barb fry aren't freeswimming at first; they'll just hang somewhere with their caudal fins down and can be hard to see. I'm not sure about gourami fry, though.
