I am completely confused, (or maybe very stupid) I'm not sure how my Ammonia, NitrItes and trAtes can still be at 0 after 5 weeks with 5 neons, 1 goldfish & a frog have been living in there? I did have some white sandstone type rocks in there I removed, wasn't sure what they were when I put them in hope that wasn't too big of a mistake. Can someone please explain this to me?

ps thought I should mention, I've been getting my lfs to test my water for me, I don't have a test kit yet.

I dont think it would be possible to have 0 parameters after 5 weeks, unless you are dosing products like ammo-lock that convert ammonia?

The tank is 10 gallons. I have an AquaClear 150 running, with charcoal and Ammo-rid filter. Whoops...maybe the ammo-rid filter is causing trouble. Would it still be doing it's job after 5 weeks? Or would it be a bed for bacteria now?

Does the ammo-rid filter say how long it lasts...?

I'm not sure...I thought I was supposed to change it every 4-6 weeks. Should I take it out? I bet it's been keeping my tank from cycling! After all this waiting...
