| How do i work out Tank Volume with a corner tank | |
tigion![]() Small Fry Posts: 1 Kudos: 1 Votes: 0 Registered: 01-Sep-2004 ![]() | hello id like to know how the corner tank its 14inches high , starting from the corner its 14.5 inches on each side, the frount has 3 sides , two being 8 inches the other 10 inches. the width from the corner to the front is 16 inches and the length from side to side is 20.5 inches i never counted how many gallons went in when i filled tank this was over 2 months ago i know have 2 shubunkins, 4 black widows , 1 bubble eye , and one golden something catfish and everything is fine i want to know if i can add more fish i would like to add some white clouds and a fantail is this possiable |

As it is now that's already WAY too small for the fish that you have in there. Fancy goldfish, the two shubunkins, and bubble eye would need a 75 gallon tank because they do grow quite large. Additionally goldfish and catfish are known for needing additional gallons because of the ammount of waste they produce. If you do want to keep the goldfish and catfish I'd suggest a 75 gallon if not 100+ (remember they'll need one with the largest footprint/surface area possible) The black widows and WCMMs would be rather happy in the corner tank you have now. ^_^ ![]() |
Mike R![]() Fish Addict Posts: 593 Kudos: 830 Votes: 322 Registered: 27-Jul-2004 ![]() | What you have is a 14.5 inch cube with a corner cut off. 14.5 X 14.5 = 210.25 Minus the cut off corner. 6.5 X 6.5 /2 = 21.13 Makes 189.13 sq. inches X 14 = 2669.68 cubic inches or about 11 gallons. Then measure how high the tank is. Divide the tank height by the water height and then times by 2. Thats how many Litres it holds. Same can be done for gallons |
