This week I gave my Oscar, Black Shark and Green Serveum back to the LFS. I was not expecting to get anything for them but the owner handed me a $30 credit slip. Each fish was 6-7 inches long, so a pretty good size.

Has anyone else gotten credit or cash for other fish traded back?

Generally, when I trade fish in (and worked at my LFS) we gave back 1/3 of the price of the fish. So - say we sold a fish for $1.50, we bought it for .50 - or our wholesale price. That's generally what I expect when I go in

im in the uk and my lfs gives every fish a 12 week guarantee there a little bit more expensive than some of the other shops in my area but if they die for any reason they will replace them.good hey?oh and thats even if they die because of poor water quality which i think is amazing and hope my other lfs's will follow suit.

the LFS in VA where I was living until about a month ago gave me half price of the CAE that was beginning to become very aggressive for my tank. This was after I had him for 6 months. That store was great. I wish they could have moved with me.

I took in 3 male guppies and a small clown loach and got $6. That was probably $1 per guppy and $3 for the clown loach. Male guppies sell for around $5 and clown loaches that size sell for about $8, maybe more.

* all prices in Aussie dollars
