| How often do you "upgrade" your tank? | |
fishygirl68![]() Hobbyist Posts: 97 Votes: 0 Registered: 07-Jul-2004 ![]() | I have only been doing this for about 4 months, and started out with a 10 gallon, I now have a 27 gallon, 29 gallon, and I'm always on the lookout for bigger tanks! The problem is it's alot of work to dismantle and set up new tanks, then you have to let them cycle, etc. Is this going to be an ongoing problem with this hobby, the need for a bigger tank??? Where will the insanity end!!!??? |

If you get the right fish for the first tank you buy, then there really is no need to upgrade. Unless you want to! |

I think it's great! I started with a twenty gallon, now I have a twenty-nine gallon! Nine more gallons and tons more experience to work with! |

You don't add on to your collection? ![]() Actually, here's a better question. Why are you letting these new tanks go through the cycling process? You could make the upgrade a lot easier if you took the old filter from the previous tank and ran it in the new tank at the same time as the new filter. You'd have a ready supply of bacteria and at the same time you'd have a good amount of biofiltration already in place. |

I really want a bigger one, but right now I have neither the space or the money. |
