Females have a somewhat curved Anal fin-but it has the appearance of being "once piece".
Males have an anal fin that has a tubular organ in the middle of it.
Sorry, pics are a bit blurry, the glass on the outside of this tank is not great as it was used previously for thinks other than fish

Just figured I'd pass it along. Like I said, I had them a few years ago..and loved them. Never knew how to sex them. Then got them again recently, and ran across someone who told me how..and I was amazed at how obvious it was and easy. I'd always read to look at the way the fin was curved..the one's I'd seen before that were males I assumed just had damaged fins. Not likely that they're going to breed or anything..but I'm sure they're happier with at least a female per male..and not too many males per tank..I'd assume.
