Very small fish that come in contact with the hydra are paralyzed by the venom and then held fast by the tentacles until eaten. has Anybody ever heard of these??? |

They look impressive on paper but they are really tiny in the flesh. Some fish gladly eat them, although fry may be at risk. Theyre not a big pest problem in most tanks because relatively common tropical fish will eat them, gouramis, cichlids etc. Its rare that they get to a size to threaten your fish, they get eaten when still small. Theyd really only be a problem in a fry raising tank, most adult fish will just polish them off. |
