Hey, I just wanted to let you all know that i am trying again w/bichirs i got a new one today and its a little bigger around 4in. Said at my petstore tho when the guy who sold it to me asked me if i new anything about. I decide to test him and told him how big they get and what there scientific name was ect ect well that got him mad cause he has some and i just taught him some stuff he didnt know. Kinda said for me though knowing how many people get bad advice at that store from a person who asks customers about a fish he has. Hopeing if i work there i would be just a tad more helpful than he was.

Same as you tiger a polypterus sengalus sengulas or w/e {can't speeel} I would like to get some different bichirs as soon as i get a bigger tank. Not sure about an ornate tho , those are totally awsome though. Was thinking about getting a bichir off aquabid but since my lfs had some in stock i dicided i try these. BTW nice to know someone besides toirtis has a bichir. lol.

i know that i just dont know which ones. I was looking for an albino senegulas but my lfs only had them in small and in normal not large or medium or albino. I did no onother store who had senegulas mabe a .5-1.0in bigger than mine not sure how good condition they were ,but they looked pretty cool.

WOW! now thats a stock list. if i had the tanks for it id love to own just about every bichir species. just for looks alone they are all beautifully marked, especially the endlicheri, palmus, and weeksii, right now piranha-fury is having some type of raffle and the winner gets a 17in. endlicheri. that would be straight wicked

Really a no.1 bichir fan toirtis , you must be spending HUGE amt of $ in feeding them, how do you manage to rear so many bichir, i think it really take too much of an effort, consider the size they will grow up to...

Care to share your experience on those bichirs u have toirtis ? tank size and all ? oh and your filter system too

I am breeding the senegals and ornates, and trying to get the palmas polli to spawn. Just a matter of having a lot of tanks, and being clever at buying food.....I can feed all my fish for under $20/week. My filter systems are a combo of AquaClear HOBs and assorted canister filters running a combo of sponges and biomedia.
