I've been looking around for awhile and I'm having a hard time just finding a straight answer and some good suggestions. It seems like every post contridicts another!

It's a fully cyled 29 gallon tank w/ a Penguin 170. I have a Penguin Mini and Whisper 2-5s that could be added for filtration if needed (all cycled). 15 pounds flora max/ 15 pounds flourite with some plants.

I'd prefer to not have smaller fish but I do have 6 full grown zebra danios I wouldn't mind keeping in the 29 if possible - they are flexible. I have a different tank I could keep them in.

I'd like to have 1 angelfish, maybe two and a BN or other suggested algae eater. 6 Ottos don't really interest me as I've read they're nocturnal.

Gouramis sound nice, keyholes, convicts, any of those. I'd really appreciate some suggestions!

You could keep the Zebra Danios, get 1 angel, and one BN. You couldnt get a convict with the angels or the zebras, and I wouldnt go with the keyhole. I would say the zebras the angels or maybe even two, and the BN.

I would say, unless it's a 29G High, then no Angels at all.
If it is a 29 High, you could have ONE Angel. I think one Angel and your Zebra Danio's would look beautiful. They are probably big enough that your Angel wouldn't eat them.

I'm not sure how an Angel would react towards the other fish.

However, both Gouramis, Keyholes or Convicts would be fine alone.

I don't think there would be a problem with adding three gouramis, one male and two females. Just get any of the less aggressive varieties.

And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."

Then no, I would strongly urge you to not get an Angel for that tank.

There are many other good choices out there to choose from, the gouramis or the cichlids could me a wonderful species tank
