My tank has been set up for some tim now. it has completted its cycle and Im ready for some more fish.
At the moment I have 3 corys, 3 brillian rasboras, and 5 neons. And with all them my 20 gallon still looks empty. And from the looks of it my fish are done growing, excpet maybe the corys. Im thinking of adding 3 more neons and 3 more rasboras. Should i just add them 3 at a time... or do you all think my tank will be fine to add all 6???

Your biofilter can only support as much stock as is in the tank @a current time, since the bacteria needs time to grow I've always been one to slowly increase stock. Even if the tank is over filtered like yours is. While it might be fine to add all 6 @once (neons dont' produce all that much waste after all ) I'd still go for a week or two seperation between the 3.

Corys are also schooling, you might want to consider expanding their school as well .

Instead of adding 3 more neons and 3 more rasboras, I think you should add 1 more neon, 3 more rasboras, and 3 more cories. The tank will definitely not be empty then, and your fish will be much happier with actual schools to swim in.

well with my tank being over filtered... I have the UGF tube on the power head, but have it pointed up (since i don't have a UGF) under the water fall of the penguin filter so that there isn't too much under water movement. The fish seem to like the fack that they are not being pounded into the bottum of the tank because of the water fall. But i have found that a few of the cories like to try and swim into the UGF tube. Watching this is pretty entertaining seeing how as there is 170 gph flowing through this tube, and these stubborn corries are determined to reach the power head ]

But the reason that i don't don;t want to add any more cories is because they seem happy as is and I think the tank would look a little nicer with the color of the rasboras and the neons...

But who knows... I may just give up and get a 55 someday

def. fill out the school of cories, they may look happy now but they will be even happier in a group of 6. More cories=more powerhead surfing, and no need for tv In addition, I'll second bringing the schools of neons and rasboras up to 6.

cories are schooling fish but do not have to be kept in groups... and only add 3 fish at a time to keep from shocking your tank and wait at least a week between addding other fish.

:%) That's an oxymoron. Cories are schooling fish and should be kept in groups, since that is what pretty much defines a schooling fish.

Definitly add 3 more cories, as well as the neon and 3 more rasboras. All your fish will behave differently when they are given a school.

They shade the glow of it with their mossy-misty costumes,
They wear masks of silk, porcelain, brass, and silver,
So as not to mislead with their own, ordinary faces.

I agree with "sirbooks", add 1 Neon, 3 Rasboras & 3
Corydoras. All your fish need to stay in schools.

if you add 1 Neon, 3 Rasboras & 3
Corydoras that will bring your total to 18 fish, which in my opion is an ideal number. Also having your fish in schools of 6 will make them happier.

no it not an oxymoron its a statement of fact.. yes they will school if you put them in there in a large enough group (meaning cories) but they do not have to be kep in groups.
