It is a sad day in the aquarium world of F1sh

the Dwarf Gourami known as Alvin has left us all

Alvin was a good fish, never bothering anyone, and would always keep the leftovers off the bottom

and then the silent killer known as fin rot came into Alvin's world

despite several doses of Melafix and a few salt bathes, Alvin just lost the will to live

so let's all take a moment in our lives today to remember Alvin

Alvin, this one's for you/:'

The true test of character is not how much we know how to do, but how we behave when we dont know what to do.

Alvin had no children

unless he had an affair with the upside down catfish

weird

but thanks so much, i'm just new at this whole fish thing, and i know that there are so many factors under my control, but there are so many other factors out of my control too

dont beat yourself up to much mate, losing fish, althoo its sad,its part of fishkeepingand over the years to come, you will no doubt lose more, all you can do is try to find out why, correct the problem and move on and be prepaired for next time...even then sometimes you will never know why they passed away, but i look it it like this,if 1 of your fish does pass on,then you are able to get something else....anyway rip alvin

Thanks all so much for your support

yeah, i guess i was making a big deal out of it

but now we have new greivances in our tank
the three ghost shrimp i bought the other day were devoured by the Upside Down Catfish, Bartholomew

Bartholomew( a.k.a. The Dark Knight, Black Marauder, or Chocolate Rain) is at large

he is hiding in the brightly colored tunnel thing at the bottom of the aquarium

anyone with info is asked to report a Private Message to F1sh

Thanks, and Remember: Excelsior!!

IMO you should return that catfish to the LFS. I think I might've mentioned this before, but the Asian Upside Down Catfish grows too large for your tank and will never play nice. Also, as you found, it will make bite-size tankmates disappear; bite-size of course grows with the size of the catfish, and will eventually be rather large indeed.
