OoooOOOoo, interesting one. It appears to be a luciosoma, possibly a pelligrini, maybe a trinema, common name of apollo shark. Asian fish, cyprinid, and quite large when fully grown too, around the 8 inches to a foot depending on species.

mmmmmmmmm, the pics arent real clear, ive had a look in my fish atlas, but theres nothing in there thats exactly the same, there are some tetras, that look a bit like the mstery fish, but its looks way to big to be of the tetras, there are also some cyprinids that look a bit like it but still no match, ill have a look in my other 2 fish atlases, and see if i can find a match,is there any chance that you could maybe get a clearer pic

Looking at images on google, I think it is an Apollo Shark what I have in the tank. Nice one longhairedgit!

I might sell it to the LFS, mine is about the length of the Blue Gourami that is in the tank which I think might be full size. So maybe 4-5" or so? Any one have experience with Apollo Sharks? If any one has stories about them eating other fish in the tank, I'd like to hear about it.

well my hat goes off to you longhair, ive looked in my other atlases, and your were spot on,its a apollo shark
the apollos sharks are are schooling fish,or they will do alot better in a school, very active, and a great jumper, keep lids on tight, not a real fussy eater,a good flake and quality pellet, with some blood worms as a treat, and theyll do fine, mine did.i wouldnt put any sort of tetras in with them,(they will get eaten when the apollos grow larger)when i had my small school(6 of em)i kept them with spanner barbs, tiger barbs,a red tailed black shark, and a bunch of clown loaches, and some asorted bottomfeeders.i found the apollo sharks a great additon to my community tank.hope all this helps
