It did not look like a golden female.. nowhere near a male. It was a silver body.. with black vertical striping on the, what seemed to be lateral line and under....thats all barely any color cept silver and black.. Should I pick this one up? What is it??

I bought a Golden Wonder Killi from Petco. Same as you experienced, a few weeks later they had the different looking ones with the vertical stripes. I bought one, but they didn't know what kind it was. I looked around on the web and it appears as if the vertical striped ones are a wild caught version of the Golden Wonder which is a captive bred variety I think.

Without a pic, there is no way to even come close to an ID for a killi. There are litterally hundreds of different killis, from multiple countries. And they are still discovering new ones today. Can you get a pic to post?
