How about some guppies? They are easy to care for, and you could get a few for fairly inexpensive...then of course the joy comes from watching them, and soon you will have more than enough...just add plants :%) That's my advice...oh and get yourself some corries to go with them...what joy!!!

blind cave fish is an interesting choice for a 20 gallon and they are easy to breed as well.

These threads almost never get anyone anywhere. What i usually suggest is what do YOU want. Since most of the time, posting a thread like this means they don't know what they want, then I'll ask this:

What kind of fish do you like? Active, calm, rare, odd, nippy, speedy, etc. etc.?

What kind of setup do you want? Biotope, community, species?

Do you want something easy or hard?

Ask yourself these questions and anything like them, and then figure out yourself what you like. Afterall, you know you the best.

It'd go with South American leaf fish. They one of the most awesome fish in the hobby.

I think you could actually keep a group of them in there (maybe about 4 individuals), because they are entirely peaceful.

They will also learn to recognize their owners and when they see you they will come right up to the front of the tank and beg for guppies. Handfeeding them is amazing. Their mouth when extended is nearly as long as their body.

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.

What other tanks/fish do you currently have?

If you're really undecided wander around lfs, look at books and websites with profiles, and write down what interests you.

Personally if I had a 20g to play with I'd set up a shellie tank.
