I was adding ammonia to 5ppm levels each day. On july 16th I got a nitrite spike. Then I decreased my ammonia input in half. I am still getting nitrite reads of 5ppm and still adding ammonia. Does anyone know when the cycle will finish? Someone told me it takes around 10 days for nitrites to go down but it has been 20 and still no change. I started with a small bag of seeded ceramic pieces and it still took me 3 weeks. I know, it's a serious pain in the butt. The nitrite drop of will be immediate though. It would be 5ppm on night and 0 the next day (that happened to me). Just be patient I'd say. |
