I have a clear plastic container that measures about 10"x6"x4"H. But if filling it with water, I could only fill it to a depth of 2". That would amount to about 1/2 US gallon.

I'd like to do something aquarium-related with this container. I'm assuming that the 2" depth isn't enough for any fish, correct? What about shrimp? Or some kind of plant? Or anything else?

Any suggestions you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Eh, that's not a lot to work with. Maybe a live blackworm container for your fish

T/A,

If you could put enough light over it, why not make it a ground cover plant growout tank?

Like for Glosso or HC and the such. Hell, even a moss growout tank would be nice.

Take a look at this link. The first is 1 liter (less than .5g), the second 4 liters (a bit over 1g). You can click on the entry number or the pic to more details about the setup; for example, the first has no substrate just stone and mesh.

You can check previous years entries as well. 2004 had 2 3 liter entries.

Definitely sounds like a challenge

LITTLE_FISH, that's exactly what I was leaning towards.

I was thinking of going with some kind of moss.
Then if I decided to attempt breeding my ADFs and raising the tadpoles, I'll have a decent supply of moss on hand.

Is the container to small for just a few ghost shrimp? I think it would be cool seeing the shrimp living in a jungle of moss. Would there be any problems with that?
