i have an interesting one for this. a nightclub i regularly go to has a huge tall (like 2 metre tall, 2 metre long) tank "in" the wall next to the main dancefloor, with some discus in it, large ones. they seem fine, i guess its very very thick glass lol

I think that it's Axl rose that's killing em

Not the volume..

hehe

I've been aware of this since my new tank is sitting near a speaker, and i try to do my best not to stress the fishies with lots of bone crunching bass.

Hmmm...I have my tank in the living room with all the TV and stereo system. Looks like I'll have to turn the volume down a bit!

Loud music is very bad for your fish & i'm sure they don't like it. As you said, they just jump when you switch the volume on.

I suppose the screechy high voices of Axl Rose don't help much either lol looks like I'll be using those headphones much more now. Thank you

Oh and something else...is it possible for them to have like a heart attack or die from shock from the loud music? I remember years ago I had an albino pleco...in a 10 gallon tank...with goldfish...before I knew anything about fish keeping of course and he was doing fine, turned on some music a lil loud and looked over and he was dead.

Bad Very very bad .

Sound is produced by vibrations. Sound travels better, and further thru water. Vibrations (such as tapping on the glass) will stress fish. Stress can cause death.

I'd mistakenly left a betta next to the speakers while I was reviewing a program...stress lead to death.

^_^
