I remember reading quite a while ago, about how-to mail fish (overnight). I heard about people putting a certain mixture of chemicals in with them that will "sedate" them, that will make the shipping easier for them.

Do any of you people out there have any recommendations? (I tried searching the forums, but I got an error message, saying not allowed).

Also, as far as the bags that I mail the fish are concerned, do you recommend getting those from the pet shop, or is there some store bought kind of bag that is good for mailing fish?

Anybody have any ideas on where to get the bags to mail them? Or the heating source?

Use bags from the fish store (they'll just give 'em to ya) and double bag them. I use a 1/3 water 2/3 mixture of air and water. I pack the box (styro = best) with some of those cool little air packs for shipping and usually drop a jungle "bag buddy" in. If you can find a small styro box to ship them in, that's the best. If not, wait until spring.

I use breather bags when I ship everything but loaches, plecs, etc that will easily break the bag. I also toss in a bag buddy, and use heat packs. When in a pinch I have used those hand warmers LOL but there are heat packs available for sale on aquabid since you don't ship often:

Since I use breather bags; don't exactly use any of the plastic air packs fallout does but instead styrofoam peanuts which leave air space round the bag. I've also wedged pieces of styrofoam so that air space is left round the bag. Whatever works.

Empty chairs at empty tables, the room silent, forlorn.
