Maybe a new 29 gallon | |
ImRandy85 Enthusiast Bleeding Blue Posts: 254 Kudos: 137 Votes: 75 Registered: 19-Dec-2006 | Well my birthday is coming up and I think I might be getting a new 29 gallon tank so I'm looking for some ideas as to what I should get. Here's a list of what I have right now: 38 gallon with platies, keyhole cichlid, curviceps, cories, otos, amano shrimp and a florida flag fish 10 gallon with betta, black neons and kuhli loaches 10 gallon planning for dwarf puffer tank 2.5 gallon platy fry and rescued swordtail fry As you can see most of my fish are south american so I would prefer an asian or african setup. One thing that I had thought of is a west african setup with 2-4 kribs and 6-8 upside-down catfish. If I went with this how much would I have to worry about the kribs spawning and going after the catfish? I'm looking for any suggestions about this setup or suggestions for a new one. Something to keep in mind is that my water is very hard and keeps a pH at about 8.2-8.4 in all my tanks. |

Another option would be Asian with a school of Harlequin rasboras, a few Honey gouramis, and some Polka Dot loaches (or smallish loach of your choice). Your African tank idea is nice too, although I personally would want more fish than that and I don't believe there are too many other options. If you got a 20g long tank instead, I suggest some shelldwellers. They'd work in the 29g, but since they stay near the bottom, a shorter tank would look better IMO. They are definitely different than the fish you already have. |
