Hi everyone. I have a new 120 gal aquarium. Actually, it's not new, I've had it for a couple of months. I have a couple of questions that I hope everyone can help me with. These are the fish I currently have:
2 - 2" danios
2 - 3.5 maybe 4" blue graumis
1 - 4" very mean and onery chinese algea eater
2 - 4" bala sharks (my favorites)

I just added a week and a half ago a small black angel and a small fire tail graumi.

I was looking for a few more fish, and added last night a small striped angel and a small, I think it's called, blood angel. The one's I have questions on are the other two I bought. The are called mono's (monodactylus argentus, I think). I've been reading up, and I'm afraid I made a mistake in adding these last two.

I would really appreciate any feedback for this newby of a fish person.

Thanks alot
Cocomo

Er, yeah, Monos are definitely not compatible with your fish just because they are brackish. Also, if I'm not mistaken, they can grow relatively large as well as somewhat aggressive. IMO you should try to fish them out quick and return them to the LFS if possible.

I saw Mono's once and thought they looked great so I did some research and if I remember correctly I read that they actually go from fresh to brackish to salt water as they mature.

EDIT: Okay, here's what I read. I guess the salt water isn't completely necesary, just beneficial?

Monos definately need salt in their tank. They will tolerate fresh when they are juveniles, but they will not show their full potential and must really be returned to the LFS you bought them from.
