why is it that, some fishes can breathe without moving, and just move water through gills.

i was thinking of glass catfish, and how they need to move alot to breathe, but whne you look at some other catfish like suncats etc... they can stay still an breathe.

also will a golden sevurium (small) be peaceful?

also i dont remember the answewr to this question that iasked about 6 + months ago:

i often see small electric catfish in with other fish. how does this work, i know they only shock when catching food and defence but, when the guy was get mines in the tank with alot of angelfish, varius bottom fish, it didn't shock them?
