I am in the process of moving, and I was wondering if you guys have any ideas to help the transfer.

I purchased a second 10 gallon tank, with a box filter, I am going to set it up before I move the main aquarium. So the water has a chance to age a little, Going to add biozyme, start right, ammonia clear, and PH 7.0 tabs. then after a few days I am going to have to put all of my fish in untill the main tank is set up.

Any other ideas?

Prior to moving & setting up the transfer tank, take your box filter and place it in your main tank for a week or two. This will allow it to build-up a good culture of bacteria.

Also if you can transfer some of the gravel from your main tank into this temporary tank it will help to seed it and hopefully you can avoid a mini-cycle.

That never occured to me about the filter. Could I just add extra filter floss to my main filter? The filter I have is one of the old school air pump driven plastic box filters.

Thanks for your help.
