Well, first of all, I'd bump the cory school up to at LEAST 6, but rather 8, since you have the room. But this may also depend on what type of cories.

What type of ram do you have?

What's the filtration on the tank?

And lastly, what are you interested in? Best advice I have is go to your LFS, browse the FW section, and right down anything you're interested in. Then bring it back here, and we can make some suggestions. HTH

Ok so I have 1 penguin 330 filter and the ram is a Bolivian Ram. I tried to get him a friend but he just nipped at her all day long. He seems like an extra aggressive one. Okay so the first thing I should do is get some more corys. Question: Does it matter if I get a different kind of cory then the ones I have. Will they still school?

10 neon tetras
12 rummies
10 corys
1 ram
2 upside downs
1 headstander
8 hatchets
1 royal whiptail

give that a try
no try and get the same type of cory if you really wanted another type you could ave 6-8 of each

Schooling is based on color and pattern so no, different types of corys won't exactly school together, but they also won't be aggressive towards each other. The become much more active and amusing in larger schools, I'd second the idea of working on increasing the cory school to 8+ .

Maybe something like pearl gouramis? Good tank size for them, they have good color, and would put some fish in the top portion of your tank.

Maybe a large school of neons and something different like a school of rasboras or rainbowfish.

Definitely go with at least six cories. You could add a BN plec to deal with algae.

I'd say get a small angel or two, small enough so they aren't able to eat the tetras, this way they will grow up knowing that they aren't food. I have a school of cardinals with my adult angels and the angels always leave the tetras alone because they've been with them for a long time.

Angels sound cool. A pair of angels would definitely look cool. I was looking at some other fish and saw a gold nugget pleco. L155 or something. Would one of those work in my tank? just curious

I think you're talking about L177, as the L155 pleco is not a gold nugget. No, they reach over a foot in length, so they're a little too large for your tank. For a pleco, have you considered some kind of bristlenose?
