My Fish Is Too Big | |

I suggest you see if a commercial aquarium will take him on, he will need a very big tank in the end if you want to keep him for yourself. And he's nocturnal - hence not liking the light ------------------------------------------------- I like to think that whoever designed marine life was thinking of it as basically an entertainment medium. That would explain some of the things down there, some of the unearthly biological contraptions |

The record weight for one of these caught on rod and line is 58 lbs. A 58 lb fish will not physically fit in a 55 gallon aquarium regardless of whether there's any water in there or not! That's the trouble with some catfishes. They look oh so cute as juveniles .. then turn into big (and sometimes ugly) monsters. Think of the Channel Catfish as being a cold-water Red Tail and you won't go far wrong. It is ... a beast. |
