It's all by itself, no friends what so ever. But still it has been living happily for around 3months or more now. All of it's buddies got lost in the 'adding to much at the end of a cycle'. It stood up to my tigers, which now have been relocated, but i got a feeling it's missing the tigers. Oh well im gettting him some mates tomorrow. Does anyone have any similar stories of pretty decent fish survival? I've grown fond of this little fella, i really hope i can spot him out when i get my other harlequins. |

My pearl gourami too. Considering I had bought the 2 of them maybe 2 years ago. At the time I was a total avg fish noob and didnt really know much at all. I had a common pleco the pearl gourami and the 2 PAINTED glassfish in a 10G tank. I think later I actually had a golden gourami and a black moor goldfish in there too for awhile. Anyway That tank for like a year never had 1 water change. The entire time. The filtration was good though, cycled the tank aprox 9 times an hour but damn overstocked and no water changes? I really dont know how they made it through that, and how the tank stayed soo clean and soo algae and disease free the whole time. Anyway the glassfish had it the worse since they were painted within the first day they had bad ick. bad. I threw in a jungle tab for ick treatment and let it go. I think I threw another one in a few days later as they didnt get better. Somehow they made it threw the ick and threw the fact they were painted and supposed to be a schooling fish the whole time. I dont remember when it was when I started researching stuff but I think it was when I first got my 20gal and came here. Not long after I got that tank I upgraded to my 29g you see here and have learned a ton. Mostly from here and google searches. Ive gone through tons of fish changes but I still have my pearl gourami and 2 glassfish. Id get the glassfish tankmates so they could school but I dont want to buy anymore painted fish and theres no where around here that sells em non-painted. So far the glassfish have been very cool fish with a lot of personality from their size. I kind of like the fact that they still have little bit of dye left so I can tell the difference between the 2. Anyway sorry for the long story n what not... -Oh yeah and also the fact that the glassfish are brackish fish in a freshwater tank is pretty crazy too.
