I have a 40 breeder with 18 white clouds, a chineese algae eater and a RTBS. I would like a centerpiece fish to inhabit the upper half of the tank. The tank is asian only (except for the algae aeater that is from india, I got the wrong one. I wanted a siameese) I have no problem keeping a labrinth fist but I want something colorfull and a little larger that will not eat the WCMMs. Any suggestions?

Check into pearl gouramis. A bit larger, definitely a surface fish, and good coloring. I've never kept RTBS but I'd think since they're mostly bottom dwellers that should'be be a problem.

Pearls definatly sound along the right track. I was actually thinking either them or the cobalt blue

1)I thought India was still part of Asia...
2)My history with RTS has found them to pick on dwarf gouramis, but the possibility of a larger gourami may work...
3)I'd get a different algae eater than that CAE since he'll get huge and mean with time (possibly a Hillstream/Pakistani Loach?)

PM/email/msg me if you have any questions/comments regarding me or my knowledge or if you want me to read a thread.

I would also recommend the pearls. I have 2 and they are excellent. I have also heard that can live over 7 years.
