We have decided to start out with a smaller 20gallon tank, and was wondering what fish would make a good community? Right now we just have a couple neon tetra's and harlequin rasbora's. Any suggestions??? I was hoping to get an angel fish, but have heard they need alot of room and probably wouldn't be compatible with the fish we already have.

Also, I have this fish I think it was called a red tetra in the store, but cant seem to find any information on it online. He's more round then the neon's, shaped more like a quarter...any idea what his real name would be?

Thank you soo much, I dont know alot about fish but you guys seem to be very informed on here!!!!

[font color="#000080"]angelfish won't be happy in your 20G,
you'll need a larger tank if you want to keep angels.

how many neons and rasboras do you have now?
they need to be in schools, and a school of each will just about stock your tank

a suggestion, plants are always good for your fish

I would up your number of neons and rasboras to 6 each. You might want to look at some bottom feeders, 5 or 6 cories would fit well. Unfortunately a Angel Fish would need more room and the neons are a natural food source for them.

some guppies maybe, all males though, so that you don't need to worry about female to male ratios and force you to have more fish

No don't get the Angel, they need bigger tanks. How many Neon Tetra's & Harlequin Rasbora's do you have?. A school of Corydoras would keep the bottom of your tank clean & eat any leftover food you may have.
