Need Help Stocking | |
dvd_wightman Small Fry Posts: 13 Kudos: 10 Votes: 1 Registered: 18-Nov-2007 | I have an idea of how I want to stock my new tank when I get it, but I need a centerpiece fish to finish it off. It will be a 29 gallon tank with live plants. Right now I think I will have: 6 Zebra Danios 8 Harlequin Rasboras 6 Gold Barbs I would like to stick to the Asian theme. I was thinking about honey gouramis, but they are not consistently stocked at my LFS. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Tanks: 10 Gallon-2 Platies |

I wouldn't be worried about that, but some of the gourami do get too large for your tank. That said, a dwarf gourami would be good and are more common than honey gourami. On the other hand, honey gourami are pretty common; I bet they're on the wholesaler's list. You can go up to them and ask for them to order them in. One LFS here always has a tank full of them, but they DO have a whole row devoted to gourami. What about kuhli loaches for the bottom? -------------------------------------------- The aquarist is one who must learn the ways of the biologist, the chemist, and the veterinarian. |

I have one in my 10g with some harlequin raspboras and he's a beauty! Mine is a cornflower blue male, spectacular! Maybe instead of gold barbs, get cherry's if you go with the Betta, they are much less e to fin nippage! |
