I have a 29 gallon asian themed tank with 3 Gold Barbs, 4 Rosy Barbs and 7 Tiger Barbs. The problem is that the fish mostly feed in the bottom part of the tank and it does not give a balanced look to the tank. The upper level is so empty looking. I know i am fairly well stocked but is there anything else i could put in to fill out the top portion? Thanks.

Gourami and Danios are the first fish that come into mind. I can't think of many other fish that are Asian, commonly sold, and work in a 29 gallon aquarium...

Dainos would be better i think, as IMO barbs are too nippy to be kept with gouramis, or anything else with big fins for that matter.

Pearls are VERY pretty fish. I think you oculd fit maybe 5 in there?

I suggest Cherry Barbs.

Cherry barbs aren't top dwelling fish. i agree with shini, danios are probably best.

I have Zebra Danios in my 29G and they are all over the place, not only the top.

They occupy the top when feeding and otherwise on occasion, which usually means when their never ending "Play Catch" game brings them there .
